Peer Advice to Transform Health & wellbeing

The Peer Advice to Transform Health & wellbeing (PATH) project is a parent peer support group to help parents, families and carers whose children and young people are experiencing emotional or mental health problems, such as:

  • anxiety

  • low mood and depression

  • self-harm

  • eating disorders

  • sleep problems

  • suicidal thoughts

  • obsessions/compulsions

Join our drop in sessions and be involved in:

  • peer support

  • workshops

  • meeting guest speakers

  • receiving direct support

  • virtual sessions

What the peer support groups will offer:

Our informal peer support groups are held in a relaxed and confidential space in family hubs and children’s centres across Blackburn with Darwen, and through online virtual sessions.

Guest speakers linked to mental health services will be invited to join the sessions in order to provide workshops and offer guidance on topics relevant to general mental health matters that may help parents to better understand their child’s emotional well-being needs.

The group is designed to provide a safe and confidential space for parents/carers to connect with others also experiencing difficulties who can collectively offer: emotional support, guidance, exchange practical advice of shared lived experiences.

There is no commitment required to attend all sessions, but we hope that by attending a parent peer support group, you will feel more connected to others and resilient to cope with life challenges of being a parent/carer.
