Charity raises 5K following sensational football tournament fundraiser.

2023 Orphanage Cup final did not disappoint, thanks to a lot of support and local enthusiasm, the tournament exceeded £5000 !!!

Openreach won the match with an impressive 5-1 score against valiant runners up Accrington Stanley Community Trust.
Brad Ditch playing for Openreach was awarded ‘Player of the match’ as chosen by one of our Young Carers; Zayan.

Local supporters, families, friends and charity staff came together to cheer on the 2 finalists with all funds raised going directly to support the children, adults and families across the North West our services support; ensuring that when life presents difficult circumstances CANW can be there every step of the way to make sure they get the support they need.

In its 91st year we’re immensely proud of the fundraising event held annually. Consistently supported by many local business and each year attracting new supporters too. The total amount raised through the 2023 tournament was a brilliant £5,000.

A huge thank you to each business who signed up to participate, regardless of your length in the tournament you are each the reason this crucial fundraising event was the success it became.
