Charity Director taking on fundraising challenges to raise money for charity!

Charity Director of Finance, Rachel Coaker braved the waters of Lake Windermere to complete a swim following her virtual London Marathon earlier in the year to raise vital funds for charity!

Rachel set herself a challenge to prioritise time to be active and in doing so chose to raise money for Child Action Northwest.

Rachel said: “I have become stitched into the fabric of the Organisation through my ongoing amazement and awe of how dedicated, supportive and wonderful all the people who work for us are, and I wanted to do something this year that matches their ongoing commitment and courage.

I am overweight, under-fit and terrified of deep water, so I thought it would be a great idea to swim at the Great North Swim at Windermere on 10th June. I’m going to swimming lessons every week and even in 3 weeks I have seen an incredible improvement, reinforcing it’s never too late to learn and improve!”

“I did it! I was so worried about participating in the event but I enjoyed every second and signed up for next year already!
