Charity Director taking on fundraising challenges to raise money for charity!
Charity Director of Finance, Rachel Coaker braved the waters of Lake Windermere to complete a swim following her virtual London Marathon earlier in the year to raise vital funds for charity!
Rachel set herself a challenge to prioritise time to be active and in doing so chose to raise money for Child Action Northwest.
Rachel said: “I have become stitched into the fabric of the Organisation through my ongoing amazement and awe of how dedicated, supportive and wonderful all the people who work for us are, and I wanted to do something this year that matches their ongoing commitment and courage.
I am overweight, under-fit and terrified of deep water, so I thought it would be a great idea to swim at the Great North Swim at Windermere on 10th June. I’m going to swimming lessons every week and even in 3 weeks I have seen an incredible improvement, reinforcing it’s never too late to learn and improve!”

“I did it! I was so worried about participating in the event but I enjoyed every second and signed up for next year already!
The amazing thing with CANW is that whether you work here or you access one of our services, you become part of the family meaning you will be supported and have people around you that believe that you can achieve or overcome anything!
I’m so proud to work at CANW. It has changed my life and I know it does for the people we support.
Thanks so much to everyone for you support! You are truly amazing!”
There is still time to donate if you’re able to…
