Welcome and thank you for your interest in the CEO position at Child Action Northwest.
During a time of considerable change and increased demand for our services, we are looking for an inspirational leader with the vision, passion and commitment to move the charity forward, developing our strategy and implementing changes to build on the achievements of Sue Cotton our current CEO who will be retiring in early 2024.
The successful candidate should have strong social values, proven leadership skills and experience of managing a diverse organisation. They should have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and be able to demonstrate comprehensive business and change management experience.
We are a charity with a long history of supporting children going back to the founding of Blackburn Orphanage in 1886. It’s sad to say that many of the issues that existed back then still exist today and it’s our vision that everyone gets the support they need, when they need it, to ensure that all young people can reach their potential.
Our scope of work has grown considerably over the years, answering the needs we have seen within our communities, but at the heart of everything we do are the vulnerable children, young people and families we support. From our fostering service and emotional health team to our children’s contact centre and our appropriate adults service, our amazing people work and advocate on their behalf, ensuring the very best outcomes.
As an ambitious multifaceted charity CANW faces considerable challenges, but working together with our partners and stakeholders, we are committed to strengthening and growing our relationships to widen our impact within the communities we serve.
We are looking for a leader with a passion to make a difference in the lives of young people. Someone who will implement our values and drive the organisation forwards, working with our dedicated teams to recognise new opportunities and grow our influence.
Thank you for your interest in CANW.
