This Men’s Health Week, Charity Director announces taking on Triathlon to raise money for charity!
Charity Director of Child Action Northwest (CANW); Jonathan Cobbold is braving the elements and taking on the North West Sprint Triathlon, September 17th to raise vital funds for charity!
Jonathan set himself a challenge to prioritise time to be active, to improve his physical health, mental health and confidence, and in doing so chose to raise money for Child Action Northwest.
Jonathan Cobbold, Director of Development, Innovation & Growth of CANW commented: “I’m really proud to be raising money for CANW and have been blown away with the work they do to support children, families and vulnerable adults right across the region. The charity works with thousands of people every year who for one reason or another might be going through a tough time, and the difference they make to these lives is just huge.”
I’ve always loved sport but it’s fair to say that I’ve let myself go a bit over the last few years… I’ve gained about 20kg, have been struggling to build or maintain healthy exercise habits, and have generally fallen off the wagon a little bit. Unfortunately this has had an impact on my mental health and confidence. BUT 2023 is the year I get back on track! I know how much of a positive impact exercise has on my mental health and I’m really excited to get cracking!”
Having never done a triathlon before, not owning a bicycle and by his own admission just about managing a length of breaststroke, Jonathan is signed up to complete the North West Sprint Triathlon which involves: swimming 500m, cycling 20km and running 5km.
‘Step up 4 CANW’ is CANW’s fundraising campaign for 2023. Asking for individuals, companies and community groups to raise money to provide children, young people, vulnerable adults and families across the North West much needed support.
