Charity raises 7K following sensational line up at eventful Gala Dinner.

Patrons, local supporters and charity staff came together from across Lancashire to enjoy ‘A night at the Musicals’ Gala Dinner, in support of the children, adults and families across the North West our services support; ensuring that when life presents difficult circumstances CANW can be there every step of the way to make sure they get the support they need.

Celebrating our first Gala Dinner since the Covid pandemic we’re immensely proud of the fundraising event held at Stanley House on March 18. The total amount raised on the night was a brilliant £7,000.

The money raised from table sponsorships, along with individual donations and a raffle, will help with the funds raised going directly towards helping us to reach more individuals, families and community across the region who are going through a tough time.

A huge thank you to our sponsors

On behalf of all our members, CANW Directors would like to thank the following organisations for sponsoring our Charity Gala Dinner 2023!

Introducing NARCISSA NIGHTSHADE

Hosted by The Queen of our heart, Narcissa bedazzled with her glittering smile, captivated with her comedic timing, unleashed lashings of mischief and laughter; yes, a woman of large ‘talents’ she did not let them detract from the incredible voice that lies beneath.

HALF LIP SYNC QUEEN – HALF COMPERE

FULL fabulous! Thank you for adding your energy to our sensational fundraiser.

The evening came alive with theatre entertainment.

Opening and closing performances from the harmonious voices of Blackburn People’s Choir filled the rooms of Stanley House barn suites.

Rapture of applause for the talented girls of Carol May’s Academy, dancing and singing in absolute unison.

Speechless adoration for the exquisite vocals of singer Emma from We Are The Noise performing Les Miserable theatrical classic ‘I dreamed a dream’.

And wrapping up the evening and taking us into the night Rock/Indie band Run for Cover providing roof-raising, floor-filling covers of classic and contemporary hits.

Jonathan Cobbold, Strategic Director of CANW said:

“Wow, what a time we all had at ‘A Night at the Musicals’! I’m sure you can see from the photo gallery from the evening that all who attended enjoyed themselves immensely, sang and danced along to performances from talented members of our community, and generally had a ball of a time!

It was simply wonderful to come together and celebrate the work of this incredible charity, the people we support, and our generous supporters, without whom none of this would be possible.

Once more I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our sponsors for the evening, The Flowerbowl @ Barton Grange, Fox Group, Blades Building, the Lancashire Federation of Young Farmers and Gallagher Insurance – we feel so lucky to have you in our corner.

All I can say is ‘Roll on next year’! If this event was anything to go by, we have lot’s to look forward to.”

We were so honoured to have Lewis Baxter speaking as an ambassador of Child Action Northwest, his truly moving story and journey with CANW speaks out to children and adults of all ages. Lewis’ passion for reaching out to others, to overcome personal issues he himself has faced, is a credit to this young man. Thank you so much for your attendance and your words.
